The Institute of Administrative Management maintains seven Professional Membership grades, each aligned to a Career Stage and Certified Programme as defined in the IAM Professional Standards. The IAM is included on the UK Government’s HMRC List 3 of approved professional organisations and learned societies, which means that members may reclaim tax relief on their annual subscriptions.

All IAM Professional Members are bound by the IAM Code of Ethics (IAM-COC-2026-001), comprising seven principles: Integrity, Professional Competence, Confidentiality, Respect, Accountability, Sustainability, and Service.
Read the IAM Code of Ethics →All Professional Members at Fellow, Member, Associate, and Affiliate grades must complete 30 CPD hours per year. At least 15 hours (50%) must be structured learning and at least 3 hours must address ethics and professional conduct. At least one reflective practice record per year is required. Student and Retired members are exempt from mandatory CPD.
